Obituary

Veronica Jean Libby Murray February 27th, 1956 Dad, Ruel K. Libby took wife Athalyn J. (Knowlan) Libby via pulp truck during a snowstorm to Redington Fairview Hospital. She delivered a little girl, and she was named Veronica Jean Libby. Five years later, baby sister, Patricia Ann Libby, was born. Through the years the sisters became very close and agreed to disagree at times. Patty married Nelson Poissonnier and since, Veronica has watched each parent, her sister, and brother-in-law all pass away. Her core family is gone. Through marriages, injuries, and loss Veronica has pushed forward. Several odd jobs, then CRMA Head Cook, and finally nearly 20 years as a school bus driver she retired in 2016. She is survived by her three sons and their families, all who reside in Maine. Stewart Hayden, wife Erin, and sons Zach and Si all live in Stratton. Shawn Hayden, wife Kristy, and children Em and Tay live in Skowhegan. Youngest son, Steven Hayden, Wife Madison, and children Steven L.T., Izzy, Jasper, and Asher all also reside in Skowhegan. Husband, Ben Murray, resides in Cornville. Married May 23, 2014, they achieved many adventures, camping, boating, fishing, and of course miles of horseback riding trails alone and with many friends. May 2023 Veronica had her left kidney removed due to Cancer. October 2024 diagnosed with Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma treatment was not an option as it had already travelled to her lungs. She opted to stay home and enjoy her remaining time. She will be cremated and buried with no service, at her request. In lieu of flowers Veronica requests a donation be made to a Horse Rescue or Animal Shelter of your choosing. Horses, dogs, and cats has been her passion all of her life.
