Terrence "Terry" Edward Fortier passed from this earth on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

By his side were his daughter Veronica Fortier, his grandchildren Garret Fortier and Morgan Lanctot, and lifelong friend, Carroll Ware.

Terry was born in Jackman, Maine on February 1, 1946, the son of Alphonse "Putt" Fortier and Helen (Rock) Fortier. The family moved from Jackman to Skowhegan in 1959 where he attended high school. Terry proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corp at the age of 17 (yes, 17!) and served in Viet Nam from 1966 to 1967, earning the rank of Sargeant. He later earned his Baccalaureate Degree from the University of Maine.

Terry is predeceased by his parents and his older brother John "Jack" Francis Fortier.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Veronica Fortier (Josh Kerr), grandson Garret Fortier (wife Samantha) and granddaughter Morgan Lanctot (Seth Allen), and great grandchildren Raegan, Briar, Paysen, Jaxten and George. Terry is also survived by his lifelong friends Carroll and Lila Ware, and by his very dear friends Mike and Nancy Raven, by his 'best bud' Scooter Washburn, and his very special care giver Cheryl McGuire. Too numerous to name individually, his circle of friends from Marine Corps, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have been his network for years.

Remember to live your life as fully as Terry lived his.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles aerie at 164 Water Street, Skowhegan on Sunday, September 27, from 1 PM till the final toast is raised.
