Solon – Sylvia (Dodge) Cushman, 71, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, peacefully at home after an illness. Sylvia was born on December 19, 1953, in Bad Homburg, Germany, to Orvis and Margareta (Nagel) Dodge. She spent most her school aged years between Dixfield, ME and Germany as well as resided for several years in McHenry, MS, and Minot, ND, before settling in Solon, ME towards her retirement years. Sylvia most loved spending time with her husband Barry and two dogs walking in the woods of Maine, taking in the beautiful scenery and fully enjoying life. She was a wonderful wife, mom, Grammy, sister, and friend. She is deeply loved and will be missed. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Brianna Gunton, father, Orvis Dodge, and mother Margareta (Nagel) Dodge, all of Gulfport, MS. Services will be private.
