Fairfield – Shawn Allen Nadeau, 55, passed away at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, Maine on Saturday, April 1, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer, with his brother Alex by his side.
Shawn was born April 6, 1967, in Waterville, Maine, the son of Gerard Nadeau, Sr. and Priscilla (Wyman) Nadeau. He attended Lawrence High School and graduated in 1985.
Shawn married Lisa Giroux. They made a home in Fairfield.
Shawn worked in various trades throughout his life. He worked construction at BIW and owned ADS auto detailing service.
Shawn was a very dedicated NASCAR fan, watching NASCAR races on Sunday afternoons. He had a vast collection of NASCAR memorabilia, as well as matchbox and hotwheels cars. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Shawn also enjoyed reading motorcycle magazines and collecting old motorcycle magazines.
Shawn's brother Alex was a tremendous support to him during his recent battle with cancer. Alex spent many hours visiting Shawn, taking him to appointments and just being there for him.
Shawn was predeceased by his father, Gerard Nadeau, Sr.; his mother Priscilla (Nadeau) Morse; his sister Rosemary Cole; and special friend Rick Doig.
Shawn is survived by son, Josh Nadeau of Waterville; daughter, Jodi Nadeau of Fairfield; brothers, Paul Nadeau of Lewiston, Gerard Nadeau, Jr. of Waterville, David Nadeau and his wife Sherry of Belgrade, Alexander Nadeau of Clinton, Marc Nadeau and his husband Peter of St. Petersburgh, Florida, Jason Nadeau of Lewiston; sister Rebecca (Nadeau) Blodgett and husband Dean Blodgett of Troy, New York; several nieces and nephews; friend Bruce Richards and his wife Eileen of China; John Richards of Fairfield; Chris Shibley of Clinton.
A service will be planned and announced at a later date.
