Sandra J. (Bezanson) Ouellette, age 69, of Sidney, Maine, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 10th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family in her final days.
Sandra was born December 27, 1956, in Waterville, Maine, to Robert and Grace (Brickett) Bezanson. She attended Oakland schools and graduated from Messalonskee High School. The highlight of her school career was meeting her future husband, Rusty Ouellette, while attending a school dance. They were married on June 29th, 1974, and spent 37 wonderful years together until Rusty's passing in 2012.
Throughout her younger years, Sandra held various jobs, but she was always happiest working by Rusty's side. They worked together at their sawmill in Sidney before finding their true passion in their tow truck business, Sidney Towing. They worked day and night helping those in need and were often called the best team around by first responders and law enforcement. After Rusty passed, Sandra continued to run the business until a medical event in 2013.
Sandra cherished time with her family and friends. It was very important to her to celebrate every special occasion, as they meant a lot to her. She also loved feeding and watching the birds and crows, her daily coffee visits, putting together puzzles, playing a special game on her tablet with her daughter, spending time in the sunshine, and watching her favorite silly shows on TV.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Rusty Ouellette; her sister, Pam (Bezanson) Hancox; and her brother-in-law, George Henninger. She is survived by her sister, Terry (Bezanson) Henninger; brother, Everett Bezanson and his wife Sherri; brother-in-law, Clive Hancox; her children, Allen Ouellette and his wife Melanie, Nick Ouellette, and Julie (Ouellette) Cook and her husband Andy; as well as her beloved grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
For the last 13 years, Sandra faced serious health challenges, including an aortic dissection that she was very lucky to survive in the first place. Aortic Hope, Inc. is one of the shining lights that kept her going over the years. The support of their online community and the many friends she made in the group always made her feel like she was not alone. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Sandra's honor to Aortic Hope, Inc. P.O. Box 17 Abingdon, MD 21009 or online at https://bit.ly/AorticHope-InMemoriamDontation
Family and friends are invited to attend her burial at Reynolds Hill Cemetery in Sidney at noon on June 28th, followed by a celebration of Sandra's life from 1pm to 4pm at the Best Western Plus, 375 Main St., Waterville.
