Richard E. Pullen ("Dickie"), 84, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on the morning of Monday, August 3, due to complications from multiple health issues.

Born in Moscow to Thelma (Inman) and Ora Pullen, Dickie started his career on the River Drive at an early age, beginning a lifelong love of logging and the outdoors. He initially earned his living as a horse logger, relying on the strength of his trusted workhorses to skid the timber he skillfully cut. As the industry advanced, he transitioned to modern logging with a skidder. His love of the woods and respect for traditional logging remained with him throughout his life. Most recently, he shared in a proud moment on what he described as "the best day ever" by riding the Kennebec Log Drive float at Skowhegan Log Days, along with several fellow log drivers.

Dickie and RaeJean enjoyed their log cabin, which he hand-built with his close longtime friend, Tom Garcelon. His pride was evident in the time and dedication he devoted to caring for the Mayfield Road homestead through his final days.

RaeJean and Dickie created many cherished memories together while fishing, taking car rides on backcountry roads, and enjoying the view from the back porch of their shared home.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thelma and Ora Pullen; his son, Richard E. Pullen Jr. ("Ricky"); his sisters, Barbara McLaughlin, Marie Larochelle and her husband, Richard, and Penny Pierce; as well as his lifelong friends Jim Bean, Bobby Beane, and John Gilbert.

Dickie is survived by his longtime partner, RaeJean Beane, and their son, Roger Beane (Katlin); his children, Kirk Pullen (Sandra), Jimmy Pullen (Penny), Shane Pullen (Darcey), Shelley Gribbin, and Sharon Carey (Mike); and RaeJean's children, Richard Beane and Rusty Beane (Ida).

He is also survived by his brothers, Conrad Pullen (Dot) and Paul Pullen (Sara), and his daughter-in-law, Karen Pullen.

He also leaves behind several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Additionally, he will be missed by his large and loving family, including numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws. His nephew, J.V. Vicniere, held a special place in his heart, along with RaeJean's nieces, Dawn, Cathy, and Tammy, as well as friends Jeff McCallister, Keith Moore, and Trevy Harding.

A graveside service at Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Moscow will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, the family invites anyone whose life was touched by Dickie to gather at the family home, 180 Mayfield Road, to share memories and enjoy light refreshments.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Bingham Area Health Center, the amazing individuals of MaineGeneral Hospice, and the wonderful community that surrounded Dickie with so much love and support.
