Obituary for Rachel Niles (neé Richard) With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rachel Niles, age 76, who passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, Maine, following a brief illness. Born on January 25, 1950, in Moncton, New Brunswick, Rachel brought strength, resilience, and warmth to everyone who knew her. She found her greatest joy in baking, crocheting, and crafting for the people she loved. Rachel was predeceased by her parents, Florida (neé Breau) and Francois Richard; her sister, Joanne Miller; and her brothers, Francois Jr. and Norman. She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly. Rachel is survived by her daughters, Amber Richards of Moncton, NB, and Carrie Richard of Pensacola, FL; her sisters, Doreen Judge (Mark) and MarieAnne Stewart (Scott); and her brother, Ronald Richard (Sheryl). In her final days, Rachel said of her beloved grandson, Logan, "that little sh!t, I'm going to miss the most." She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In accordance with Rachel's wishes, cremation will take place, and no formal funeral service will be held. Her family will honor her memory privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Shriners Children's Hospitals. The family extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Eric and Amy, and nurses Tony, Christie, Shanleigh, Becky, and Sandy at Redington-Fairview General Hospital for their compassionate care.
