Priscilla Elaine Spencer, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Cornville on Tuesday, April 25 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Skowhegan on February 26, 1936. Daughter of Arthur J. LeBlanc and Edna M. (Plourde) Leblanc of Skowhegan. She graduated from Skowhegan Area High school in 1954.
Priscilla was a member of the Cornville Ladies Aid for many years and was an active volunteer in numerous town functions and family benefits for the Cornville Volunteer Fire Department. She was active with the Cornville Town Players at the hall and would often make costumes for the actors. She was the long time judge for the 4H knitters and crochet entrants for the Skowhegan State Fair. Priscilla is also the founder of the first annual Cornville lawn sale that has now turned into the well known 10 mile lawn sale. She started advertising with others in the early 1980s when there was only 4 homes participating on the West Ridge. She also taught knitting and crocheting to 4H members at her home.
She is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Edna, brother Arthur LeBlanc Jr and wife Anna LeBlanc of Kennebunk, brother Carol LeBlanc of Skowhegan, son in law George Santanelli of CT, a lifelong friend Joyce York of Skowhegan and numerous others from Maine and Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Stanley G. Spencer of Cornville, a son Steven Spencer and his wife Barbara Spencer of Windham, a daughter Lisa Libby (Spencer) and her husband David Libby of Thorndike, a daughter Joan Spencer of Cornville. Grandchildren Ryan Spencer of Standish, Holly Spencer of Windham, Kayla Bailey (Libby) and husband Ross Bailey of SC, Bethany Libby of SC. Great grandchild Elianah Bailey of SC. Sisters Phyllis Long (LeBlanc) of Skowhegan, Charlene Smith (LeBlanc) and husband Lee Smith of Skowhegan. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Priscillas Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Club banquet hall in Skowhegan at 164 Water Street, Skowhegan Me. 04976 on May 20, 2023 starting at 1:00 pm. There will be appetizers and an Italian buffet meal served.
The Spencer family would like to thank the Beacon Hospice for the work of angels they did for our mother. Lisa Beckwith for all the meals and support to keep us going through this journey and to all our friends that showed the patience and support that we needed.
