Skowhegan - Phyllis M. Long, 91, passed away on May 5, 2024, at Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan. Phyllis was born on November 12, 1932, to Arthur J. and Edna (Plourde) LeBlanc. She was educated in Skowhegan schools and graduated from Bloomfield Academy in 1950.
Phyllis served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked fifty plus years for the Davis family at Northeast Merchandising Company in Skowhegan, even after retiring she continued to work one day a month. She looked forward to her Fridays with the Davis family.
Phyllis took great pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and most recently her great-great-grandchild. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and sewing for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Edna LeBlanc, brothers Arthur and Carroll LeBlanc, and her sister Priscilla Spencer.
Phyllis is survived by her children DeWayne Long and his wife Janice of Norridgewock, Darrell Long and his wife Jane of Skowhegan, Cheryl (Bic) Blaisdell and her husband Ron of Skowhegan, John Long of Skowhegan; sister Charlene and her husband Lee Smith of Skowhegan; brother-in-law Stanley Spencer of Cornville; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at Dan and Scott's Funeral Home – 445 Waterville Rd. in Skowhegan. Celebration of Life will follow the service at her home on 20 Summer Street in Skowhegan.
