Patricia "Pat" Fortier 73, of Skowhegan, ME passed away on Thursday July 6,2023 at Maine General in Augusta with family at her side.
She was born in Staten Island, New York on June 1, 1950. The daughter of Geraldine Geidel and William French. Her family moved to Benton, and she attended Lawrence schools.
Pat married Gregory C Libby in 1969 and raised their two sons "Greg" and Mark.
Pat had many jobs thru the years. She worked at Dexter Shoe, she and Gregory owned and operated a driving school then started Libby's lawn care and snowplowing. She worked as a cook at the Somerset County Jail, and also did some personal support work in the healthcare field. All the while attending to the needs of home and family.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband Gregory C. Libby, second husband Albini Fortier, son Mark W. Libby and granddaughter Mya S. Libby.
She is survived by her son Silas M. Fortier, son Gregory H.Libby and wife Lisa of Skowhegan. Stepchildren Timothy, Melissa, Edward, and Jonathon. Along with the mother of Pat's grandchildren Tammy Elliott.
Grandchildren Kirsten Libby, Broc Libby, and Jordan Elliott all of Skowhegan. Dorothy (Dollie) Fenton of Norridgewock. Great grandchildren Asher Erkson, and Curtis Reilly of Skowhegan. Sister Alice Pelotte of Skowhegan, brother Fred Geidel and wife Kathy of Altoona Florida, Billy Geidel of Oakland. Sister Kathy Veilleux of Madison, and Claire Smith of Florida. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. As well as her special friend of 50 plus years, Mary Seavey of Skowhegan, Maine.
Pat spent her free time playing bingo, knitting, baking, and gardening. Although nothing could top spending time with her closest family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, sarcasm, and quick wit.
Per Pat's wishes there will be no funeral, or visitation. A small graveside service for family will be held at Eastside cemetery in Skowhegan. Any donations will be set aside for her son Silas. Please contact Greg for more information.
