North Anson – Norman Fritz Voelkel, 84, passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2024. Norman was born in Killingworth, CT, on February 18, 1940, son of Fritz and Dorothy Emma (Wood) Voelkel.
Norman was a memorable character, well known and loved by his family, friends, and his community. Whether you knew him early in life through his prospects as a competitive shooter, through his involvement with the Ancient Ones, or have spent time with him hunting, fishing, or enjoying the outdoors. Norman was always willing to show up, dib-dob around and share his insights on life, history, and old equipment. If you ever needed something, he had it for you "brand new"!
He was preceded in death by both his parents, his daughter Laurie Dekker, his sons Kenneth and David Voelkel, and his sister Joan Carini.
Norman leaves behind his beloved wife, Lady Patricia Voelkel; daughter Rachel Voelkel (Almus Willis) of Port St. Lucie, FL; son Daniel Berger (Claire) of Bowdoinham; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and close family friends scattered across the United States and the Philippines.
A service will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:00am, located at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Madison. Immediately following is a Celebration of Life at the Voelkel residence in North Anson.
