Skowhegan – Michael "Mikey D" Lee Dennis, Sr., 59, passed away September 14, 2024, at a Comfort Care Facility in Augusta, with his wife and a few family by his side, after a short and hard battle with cancer. Michael was born in Ashburn, GA, on October 27, 1964.
Michael grew up in Dade City, Florida, and moved to Maine in 2008, where he made a tremendous impact on everyone who touched his life. Michael had a huge heart and a contagious smile and laugh. He would help anyone and give the shirt off his back if that is all he had. Michael loved to dance, make people laugh, listen to music, and enjoy the company of his friends and family. He had a great love for classic cars. Michael was an Auto-Technician and worked at Coldbrook Mitsubishi in Skowhegan, where he called those he worked with family as well.
He was predeceased by his mother Daisy (Lewis) Graham in 2019.
Michael is survived by his stepfather Nathaniel Graham; his cousin Marion Derisma, whom his mother adopted and to Michael she is his sister, a brother MacArthur Lee Dennis who he has tried with his wife to contact for 12 yrs.; his wife Tabatha (Steward) Dennis; his children Latosha Dennis, Latesha Dennis, Lakiesha Dennis, Benjamin Miller, Ebony Dennis Streeter, Michael Lee Dennis Jr, and Devin Dennis; stepchildren Nakoba Steward, Serena Foster, and LaKarria Steward; many grandchildren and a great-grandson he adored and loved very much. Michael has many family and friends in Maine, Florida, and Georgia who will miss him greatly.
Michael would always say, "Family isn't just blood, family is someone who genuinely cares for a person and would drop anything to help someone with what little they had to offer. Family isn't by name; family isn't selfish with themselves or anything they have or need."
With Michael being loved in multiple areas there will be services and celebrations of Michael's life in both Florida and Maine.
In Maine, A "Celebration of Mike" is going to be held October 19,2024 from 2pm-8pm @ Turner Poulin Hall in Skowhegan, Maine.
