Canaan – Michael William Demo, 87, passed away peacefully at his home of many years on October 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Michael led a very full life and had many life-long friends. He was a Maine Guide and loved hunting and trapping. He taught Forestry as a Professor at Unity College and then owned his own surveying business for many years. In his later years he and Carol worked at the Caucomgomoc Gate for The North Maine Woods. Michael had a great sense of humor. To know him was to love him. He will be sadly missed. He was predeceased by his son Thomas F. Demo and his grandson Jesse M. Quirion-Demo. Michael leaves behind his wife of over 64 years, Carol Ann Demo. He also leaves behind his son Michael C. Demo with his wife Karen M. Demo and grandson Kuper Demo as well as his very dear friends Onie and Marie Lougee and their family, and Jackie and Jim Stedman. A big shout out to the wonderfully devoted ladies from Norther Light Home Care and Hospice who helped so much through his final journey. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Norther Light Home Care and Hospice, 325-C Kennedy Memorial Dr. in Waterville, Maine, 04901 A celebration of life will be held at their home at his home located at 742 Hinckley Road in Canaan, on November 2, 2025, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
