Norridgewock - Michael C Abbott, 62, passed away with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Augusta after a complicated battle with cancer. Michael was born March 1, 1962, in Skowhegan to Frank and Charlene Abbott. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vicki Abbott; his mother, Charlene Abbott; his daughter Jessica and husband Marcus Morin and their two children, Easton and Julian; his son Gerry; his sister Lori and her husband, Bruce Nickerson; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Michael was predeceased by his father, Frank Abbott, and his uncle, Doug Carpenter. Michael graduated from the Skowhegan Area High School in 1981. He worked at North Anson Reel, B&K Construction, and was currently employed at Sappi North America for the last 15 years. Michael was a devoted husband, father, son, uncle, papa, bother-in-law, and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman (hunting, fishing, and trapping) and enjoyed sharing those activities with his friends and family. He lived his life vibrantly and always had a slick comment or joke to keep spirits light during tough times. A celebration of life will be held for Michael on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, from 2:30pm to 6:30pm at the Poulin-Turner Union Hall in Skowhegan. The family would like to thank the staff at the Maine Medical Center for their fantastic care during Michael's 60 day stay.
