Skowhegan - Louise Theresa Hannifin, age 92, died January 25th, 2024, at the home of her youngest daughter, Jennifer Olsen, in Skowhegan, Maine, where she had lived since 2017. Louise was born Louise Theresa Carpino in Pittsfield, MA, on August 29th, 1931. She attended Pittsfield High School and Secretarial School. Louise married her husband Edward J. Hannifin, Jr. in 1955 and remained married to him until his death in 2020; they were married 65 years. Louise lived in Wilbraham, Hampden, Springfield, and Massachusetts. She worked as an executive secretary for the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. Louise was known and appreciated for her warmth, her interest in others, her loyal friendship, and her devotion to her family. She was particularly known to be an excellent cook and a crafter of quilts for friends and family members. Louise leaves four children: her son Edward J. Hannifin V of Lawrence, MA; daughters Maribeth Boss of New Bedford, MA, Susan Hannifin Miller of Rochester, NH, and Jennifer Olsen of Skowhegan, ME; grandchildren Elizabeth Boss, James Boss, Rachel Boss, Aaron Boss, Edward J. Hannifin VI, Matthew Hannifin, Ian Olsen and Emily Olsen; as well as great-grandchildren Kayla, Lucy, and Eleanor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: "The Club" Adult Day Program of Maine General Health. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday May 31st, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery 83 Stanley Road in Springvale.
