Obituary

Clinton – Linda Lee Cunningham, 79, went to be with her family on December 30, 2024, at Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan after battling a prolonged illness. Linda was born August 4, 1945, in Waterville, daughter to Ethel L. Moore, and Donald G. Dyer of Clinton. She attended school in Clinton until her Junior year of high school in 1963, after which she dropped out to raise her newborn daughter Vicki Rae. Later Linda returned to class to earn her GED in 1981. Her most recent work was for Home Care of Maine as an in-home health care provider until her retirement in 2020. She was a certified home health care nurse and a successful life-long student. Linda married Ivan Cunningham of Corinna in 1964. They parted ways but remained good friends after 37 years. Linda regularly went to the Skowhegan and Clinton Fairs, where she enjoyed cheese fries, dough boys, and watching the demolition derby. She loved to watch cooking shows and old westerns when she was not watching the races. She was a caring and loving person with a stubborn streak. She was predeceased by both her parents, her brother "Skip" Dyer of Clinton, her daughter Vicki, son-in-law James "Jimmy" Hinkley, and granddaughter Natasha Hinkley, all of Sabattus. Sadly her longtime friend Ivan Cunningham of Dexter also left 24 hours after Linda. Linda is survived by her daughter Raelynne Cunningham(Brian Lagasse) and granddaughter Maykayla Cunningham, both of Auburn; her brother and best friend Charles "Charlie" Dyer of Clinton; her sisters Sherri Dyer of Fairfield and Lydia "Teeny" Landry of Vassalboro; her "nephew/son" Scott Dyer; special friends Ruth Mattson, David Huff, George Brown, and lifelong friend Rae Jean Dorr; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
