Skowhegan – Leone E. Everett, 89, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Ceder Ridge Center in Skowhegan. Leone was born in Kingsbury, daughter to Avis May (Ward) and Amos Cowette. She attended schools in Harmony. Leone worked at Norwock Shoe and Solon Manufacturing Co., both in Skowhegan.

Leone married Dwight Everett Jr. in 1959. Together they especially enjoyed spending time at their family camp at Kingbury Pond. She loved sightseeing and traveling through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Bar Harbor, and many other coastal towns. Above all, Leone was loved by many, always kind, and generous to all.

She was predeceased by both her parents, husband Dwight Everett Jr., brothers Rodney and Shirley Cowette, and sister Betty Cowette.

Leone is survived by brothers Levi Cowette with wife Lucy of Skowhegan and Claire Cowette of Palmyra, along with several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Athens in the spring. Date and time to be announced.
