Obituary

Belgrade - Kevin Jon Weston, 65, passed away unexpectedly in Portland at Maine Medical Center on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, after major complications with a procedure. Kevin was born to Herman & Gail Weston on May12, 1958, though was raised by Herman & Darrolyn Weston and always considered Darrolyn his "Mom". Kevin attended the Messalonskee School District (RSU 18), then enlisted in the Marines where he completed his GED and continued his education in mechanics, while serving our country. Kevin worked many jobs as a mechanic, construction, long haul trucking, cabinetry, and furniture refinishing, until he found his home with RSU 18 in 1998. There he joined their staff as a custodian and spare bus driver, until retirement when his health no longer allowed him to work. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman, loving all things nature; hunting, fishing, camping, white water rafting, canoeing, and nature watching with his wife. He loved music and enjoyed playing guitar and mandolin with family and friends. He loved his tractor, winning cards, and hanging out with his grandkids. Kevin touched the lives and hearts of everyone he met. He always had that mischievous twinkle in his eye, along with energy and a smile that would warm the room. He was everyone's "go to" guy. Kevin gave people the freedom to be themselves around him and the confidence to be themselves everywhere. He was predeceased by his father Herman Weston and birth mother Gail Buker-Guerin; brothers, Dennis Weston, James Giroux, Paul Gross, and Al Boyer (Bad to the Bone brothers); grandson Connor Trask; great-granddaughter Leah Lyn Wentworth; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and nephews. Kevin is survived by his wife of 45 years and high school sweetheart, Debra (Plumley) Weston; children, Myranda Weston (Dan Robinson), Elyzabeth Trask (Matt Luce), Samuel Weston (Lisa), Cami Hippler, and John Hippler; grandchildren, Rajel, Maxine, Jaymes, Michael, Kevin, Gavin, Kallista, Kaia, Hayden, Caden, Dayna, Jacob, Sawyer, Milena, Elowen, and Rhett; great- grandchildren, Roman, Reigan, Charlie, Caysen, and Colton; mom, Darrolyn Weston; along with several brothers, sisters, and extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Winslow VFW, Dunbar Rd. Winslow, ME on Sunday June 2nd, 2024, from 2pm until they kick us out. The family would like to thank the staff at Maine Medical Center and Dan & Scott's Cremation and Funeral Services for their kindness and help in this difficult time, as well as our family and friends that have reached out to help us honor his memory.
