Kathleen Ann Bagley (Kathy), 52, a resident of Fairfield, ME, passed away Thursday, May 25th at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous battle against terminal cancer.
She was born September 21st, 1970, in Farmington, ME, the daughter of Kenneth and Louise Imlay. She graduated in 1988 from Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, ME. After graduating, she attended UMF for her undergraduate degree. She later earned her master's degree through UMass Boston.
On September 6th, 1998, she married Robert Bagley in Hinckley, ME. She owned and operated her own small business, Excel Consulting, for over 27 years and was an Assistive Technology Specialist who worked with people with all disabilities, specializing in visual impairment and blindness. She also worked as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor and a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist for the Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired for 8 years.
She loved going on trips and exploring new places, hiking, camping, kayaking, swimming, acrylic painting, crafting, and was always an avid reader. For her daughters, Lindsay and Alaska Bagley, she took on roles as a Girl Scout leader, cheerleading coach, and even sponsored a T-Ball team.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Robert Bagley of Fairfield, ME, and their two daughters, Lindsay Bagley and her significant other Brianna Figueroa of Augusta, ME, and Alaska Bagley of Fairfield, ME.
She is also survived by her adopted ("chosen") mother, Wanda St. Germain of Jay, ME, her father and stepmother, Kenneth Imlay and Phyllis Cochran of Wilton, ME, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Linda Bagley of Harmony, ME, her siblings, Geraldine Miller of Brighton Plantation, ME, Tim Brown and his wife Tracey of Dublin, GA, Troy Giroux and his wife Rhonda of Wilton, ME, Kenneth Imlay Jr. of New Vineyard, ME, Angela Imlay and her husband Jay Sayles of New Portland, ME, Thomas Imlay and his wife Jacquelyn of University Place, WA, Elise Starbird and her husband Jason of Farmington, ME, her chosen sister, Robin Corrow and her husband Eric of McCormick, SC, her brother-in-law, Jeff Bagley and his wife Roxann of Parkman, ME, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her biological mother, Louise Imlay of Wilton, ME, her maternal grandmother, Lucille Williams of Vinalhaven, ME, her paternal grandparents, Frederick and Harriet Imlay of Bethesda, MD, her brother, Norman Baker of Anson, ME, her stepfather, John St. Germain of Turner, ME, her sister-in-law, Amy Bagley and her niece and nephew, Coty and Monica of Dexter, ME.
The family would like to send special thanks to all of the lovely people who helped Kathy through her fight against terminal cancer.
Kath's wishes were to be cremated and have her remains scattered at various locations throughout Maine and New Hampshire that she enjoyed and frequently visited during the family's adventures. A celebration of her life gathering is being planned for later on this summer and details will be posted when those are finalized.
