Obituary

Norridgewock – John Francis Zaccardi, 76, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 26, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, John was the son of Joseph and Josephine (Fiumara) Zaccardi. Raised in Randolph, Massachusetts, a graduate of Randolph High School, John later moved to Brockton to start his own family, before settling in Norridgewock in 1987, where he spent the remainder of his life raising his family and enjoying all he loved. He worked for Vic Firth Manufacturing in Newport, a role that allowed him to use his hands and showcase his talents and skills. John was a devoted father whose family meant everything to him. He cherished family trips to Old Orchard Beach, often reluctant to leave the shore. His passions included working on and restoring classic cars, drag racing, attending car shows. He also enjoyed woodworking, basket weaving, creating stained glass, and building model cars. Halloween nights trick-or-treating with his grandson were among his most treasured memories. John was predeceased by his parents, his older brother, Nicholas Zaccardi, his nephew Joseph Zaccardi, his wife Deirdre, and their three children Alexis, Nathaniel, and Kathryn. He is survived by his daughters Lisa Meunier and her partner Roy Rose of Randolph, ME, Donna Zaccardi of Norridgewock, ME, his grandson Spencer Meunier of Waterville, ME, his sister Mary Zaccardi and sister-in-law Kathleen Zaccardi of Foxboro, MA, nephew Nicholas Zaccardi and great-niece Lily of Holden, MA, and nephew Daniel Zaccardi, his wife Danielle and great-nephew Kane of Norfolk, MA, as well as his beloved Auntie Mary Hicks, and many cousins, and friends. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Beacon Hospice and the Dialysis Clinic in Skowhegan for their excellent and compassionate care. A funeral service followed by a reception will be held on November 25, 2025, at 11:30am at Somerset Valley Remembrance Center located at 19 Washburn Lane in Skowhegan.
