Obituary

John "Jack" Williams, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 27, 1944, to Arline and Gordon Williams, Jack grew up in a close-knit family alongside his brothers Tom and Mike and his sister Donna. A graduate of Madison Memorial High School's class of 1962, Jack dedicated 38 years to the Jay papermill, where his exceptional service created lasting friendships with colleagues. Jack found his soulmate Linda, and they married on June 4, 1999, in an intimate ceremony at their Madison residence. Their partnership flourished through shared adventures, mutual devotion, and unwavering dedication, especially during their countless drives through the North Country seeking wildlife and natural beauty. An avid outdoorsman, Jack found joy in life's simple pleasures. He cherished deer hunting with his son Timothy and grandson Kyle, creating lasting memories. He enjoyed bird hunting trips with his brother Tom and fishing excursions with his dear friend Tim Kennedy. Above all else, Jack's greatest happiness came from being surrounded by his family. His warm smile, generous nature, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew him. He took immense pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow, always ready with words of wisdom and a helping hand. Jack leaves behind a legacy of love though his devoted wife Linda; his children Timothy, Tammy, Nicole, Nancy, and Matt; and his cherished grandchildren Brittney, Ciara, Kyle, Ashley, Haylee, Owen, Katie, Lucas, and Jessica. His spirit lives on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with those he held dear.
