Skowhegan – Janice E Giles, 94, passed away on October 5, 2023, at her home in Skowhegan. Janice was born August 2, 1929, in Skowhegan, the daughter of Guy and Melissa (Twitchell) Giles. Graduating from Skowhegan High School in June of 1946, she went on to graduate from Eastern Nazarene College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1950. Janice was a teacher in Pittsfield for 4 years and continued to teach for 41 more years in Skowhegan. In 1971 she became an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, pastoring in Anson and Oakland. She was predeceased by her sisters Geraldine Keast and Joyce Kent. Janice is survived by her favorite sister Anna Hodgkin, as well as many nieces and nephews. At her request there will be no visiting hours. A Memorial Service will be held October 21st, 2023, at 2:00 pm at New Horizons Community Church in Skowhegan, Maine.
