James W. Arsenault
January 23, 1937 – October 20, 2024
James W. Arsenault, son of Teresa Webber Arsenault and Leonard Arsenault, born on January 23, 1937, passed away at home leaving behind a legacy of love, family, service, and dedication.
Jim grew up and spent most of his youth in Brooks, Maine where he attended Morse High School and played on the basketball team. After high school, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Corporal and earning recognition as a marksman.
After the Marines, Jim attended Industrial Technical Schools in Boston, MA receiving certification in air conditioning and refrigeration. Using these technical skills, he worked for a number of years at Maine Gas Appliance as a Service Technician. In 1980, Jim began working for Redington Fairview General Hospital as Plant Manager. Jim served 20 years at the hospital and retired in 2000.
Jim's commitment to his community extended beyond his work, as he volunteered time to coaching youth sports. Helping to instill teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship in young athletes.
Jim was not only a dedicated soldier and community member but also a man who cherished his family, friends, and the great outdoors. His love for fishing and gardening reflected his appreciation for nature.
His involvement with the Masons and Shriners showcased his commitment to helping others. Jim was recently awarded his 55-year service pin from the Masons. Jim's warm spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Jim was a longstanding and active member of the Methodist Church in Skowhegan, Maine. His involvement in the church community reflected his strong values and commitment to service. Jim's involvement and dedication to the church contributed to the spiritual growth of those around him. His faith was an integral part of his life, providing him with a sense of purpose and belonging.
Jim was predeceased by his sister Donna Breglia and survived by his sister Kathy Gleason and brother Paul Arsenault.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Diane Arsenault, and her family. His son Chris Arsenault, daughter in-law Susan Arsenault and his grandchildren Caleb Arsenault and Colby Arsenault. Jim loved and cherished all his stepchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will take place on November 2nd, 2024, at 1 PM at the Methodist Church on Dr. Mann Rd, Skowhegan, Maine.
A military committal service is scheduled on November 4th, 2024, at 1pm, 143 Blue Star Ave. August, ME.
