Irmalene Virginia Moody Holt of Skowhegan, Maine, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, in Norridgewock, with her loving family by her side. Irma was born on October 28, 1948, to Norman Moody and Gladys Fish.

Irma graduated from Somerset Academy in 1967. That same year, she met the love of her life, Robert Allen Holt, at the Norridgewock Grange. They were married on June 30, 1967, in Norridgewock and enjoyed 50 wonderful years together while raising their five children.

Irma worked at Harbor Acres until the birth of their first son, Bobby. She then became a stay-at-home mother, dedicating herself to raising her children and caring for her family. After her youngest son, Merritt, started school, Irma attended a CNA program. Upon completing the program, she worked as a CNA at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home for 18 years. Irma and Robert also delivered newspapers throughout Skowhegan for 10 years.

Irma enjoyed doing word puzzles, reading books, creating diamond art, and spending time with her friends. Above all, she loved and adored her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. Irma was a member of and regularly attended the Skowhegan Federated Church.

Irma is survived by her children, Robert Holt and his wife, Christy, of Skowhegan; Gerald Holt and his wife, Laura, of Skowhegan; Gregory Holt of Skowhegan; Sara Holt of Skowhegan; Merritt Holt II and his fiancée, Lynnie Ledger, of Norridgewock; and her bonus son, Kenneth Steward, of Skowhegan. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Danielle Jones of Skowhegan; her dear friend, Charlene Daggett of Skowhegan; brother, George Fish of Cornville; sister, Tami Clark of Rome.

Irma was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Gladys; her beloved husband, Robert; her siblings, Norman, Walter, Eleanor, and Muriel; her good friend, Carol Moody, with whom she loved playing Yahtzee; and her good friend, Nadene Steward.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Beacon Hospice nurses and aides for the loving care and support they provided to Irma and her family during this difficult time. A very special thank you is also extended to Lynnie for the love, care, and support she gave to our mother. It has not gone unnoticed, and our family will always be grateful.

A graveside burial will be held at Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan on September 20, at 1:00 p.m. A gathering will follow after, at the Fellowship Hall, in the Federated Church in Skowhegan.
