Farmington, Maine - Herman “Buddy” J. Boudreau II, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Farmington, Maine with his stepson Chuck by his side. Buddy was born in Brunswick, Maine, on October 23, 1950, to the late Herman J. and Phyllis (Bruneau) Boudreau. Buddy grew up in and attended Brunswick schools. He married the love of his life, the late Deidre Ann (Landry) Boudreau in April 1993, and they were married until her death on July 1, 2025.

Buddy and Deidre lived on Embden Pond for many years, where they loved entertaining family and friends. You could often find them on their pontoon boat taking nightly sunset cruises and waving to longtime friends. Most of their married life, however, was spent on their beloved Poplar Mountain in Kingfield, which offered a breathtaking view of 'Mount Herman.' They affectionately called their home 'End of The Trail,' complete with a sign hanging proudly at the end of their driveway. Buddy was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, frequently traveling to Loudon, New Hampshire, with friends—always easily spotted in his number '3' hat as a tribute to Dale Earnhardt. When the racing season ended, he loved playing the slots at casinos across New England and in Las Vegas. Despite enduring various hardships and losses throughout his life, Buddy maintained a genuine love for life, greeting everyone with a smile, a quick joke, and his signature 'peace' sign.

Buddy worked in the construction and paving industries for many years prior to sustaining an injury in 1994. No matter where you traveled in the State of Maine, Buddy was always quick to point out a driveway or road that he had paved or helped construct, enthusiastically sharing his knowledge of asphalt types, proper grading, and the skill required to lay pavement just right.

Though life took them in different directions after their earliest formative years together, Buddy and his older brother Marc shared a lifelong, unspoken bond—carrying forward the same core values, a deep appreciation for a peaceful rural setting, and a characteristic pride in keeping things neat, orderly, and well-kept; values formed from their father’s military and State Police careers.

Buddy was predeceased by his wife, Deidre, his son, Aaron, his father, Herman, his stepmother, Nancie, and his mother Phyllis. He is survived by his stepchildren, Chuck and Kristine LeBlanc of Kingfield, ME and Travis and Missy LeBlanc of Skowhegan, ME; grandchildren Jade LeBlanc of Farmington, Aspen LeBlanc and great granddaughter Juniper of Wilton, Lane LeBlanc and great grandson Reiker of Madison, Jonathan Chin of Truckee, CA, and Abby Chin of Creswell, OR; his siblings, Marc (Marilynn) Nichols of Eugene, OR, Nancie (Doug) Ellis of Freeport, ME and Armand of Provincetown, MA. He is also survived by countless cousins, extended family and a large circle of friends, especially William (Billy) Willette of Stratton, ME. The family would like to thank Billy for his unwavering friendship and support for so many years.

Marc, Nancie, and Armand would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to Chuck and Kris, who devoted so much of their time to caring for Buddy and Deidre. Your selfless compassion and tireless dedication made a profound difference in their quality of life. We know Buddy and Deidre were deeply grateful for your steady guidance and daily advocacy, and your unwavering support stands as a true testament to your character.

At Buddy’s request, there is no funeral or visitation planned. A private grave-side service will take place later at the Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan, ME. Arrangements are under the care of Somerset Valley Remembrance Center.
