Herbert Gordon Jr. passed away suddenly on December 26, 2023. Herbert was born January 10, 1971, the son of Hebert Gordon Sr. and Barbara (Bishop) Root. He graduated from Dexter Regional High School.
Herbert was employed at Bath Iron Works for the last 3 years and previously employed at Alcom and Nitro Trailers. Herbert was a proud Papa to his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them as much as he could. He also enjoyed Nascar and going to Wiscasset Speedway with his children and grandchildren. He loved camping and going for rides in his side by side. He was a mechanic for three decades and enjoyed helping people fix their cars. He was willing to help anyone when asked.
Herbert is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Myrtle Gerry Curtis and Ralph Fernald, and paternal grandparents Ralph and Alice Gordon.
Herbert is survived by his father Hebert Gordon Sr; mother Barbara Root and her husband Robert Root; his wife and love of his life Kelly Gordon; children Larry Wilder and partner Judith Fellows, Herbert Gordon III and his partner Keisha Small, Kathie Gordon, and Kristen Schmidt and her husband Caleb; grandchildren Benjamin and Bradley Schmidt, Latasha and Emberlynn Wilder, Whyatt Champagne Wilder, Willow Jack, and Hailey Groves; siblings Ellen Poulin and husband John, Rhonda Chambers and husband Chuck, Honeys Lynn McLellan and husband Jason; sister in law Tracey Atwood and her husband Mike; his very special in-laws Daniel and Mary Nelson; along with several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
There are no visiting hours and no funeral per Herbert's wish. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday January 7. 2024 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Poulin Turner Union Hall, 653 Waterville Road in Skowhegan.
