Fairfield - Harry Edmond Smedberg, 73, passed away on July 3, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side. Harry was born in Waterville on November 11, 1950, to George Herbert Smedberg Sr. and Noella (St. Hilaire) Lousiana.
Harry served 2 years in the US Army with an honorable discharge. He worked for Scott Paper/SD Warren/Sappi Paper Mill as a Biomass Operator for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He took pride in taking care of his home and yard, he loved mowing his lawn, and always had to pick every last dandelion. He enjoyed spending time with his family whenever he could and loved going to the casino with his wife and granddaughter.
Harry was predeceased by his parents, brothers George Jr., Robert, Axel John, Herbert, and Ellis, sisters Georgiette Francis and Anna Littlefield, and most recently predeceased by son-in-law Aime "Danny" Dempsey.
He is survived by his ex-wife Sherry Cookson, children John Smedberg with his wife Jessica, Tammy Dempsey, Analise Alley with her husband Phillip, and Peter Smedberg with his wife Jennifer, sisters Eva Krause with her husband Richard and Barbara Quirion with her husband James, and Juanita McDonald of whom was like a mother to him. He is also survived by his loving wife of 40 years Lisa Smedberg and their daughter Tracy Donahue with her husband Leo, as well as fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He will be forever loved and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family will be holding a potluck Celebration of Life, at his home, on August 3rd, 2024, from 2pm-5pm.
