Skowhegan – Harriette C. Gordon passed away with family by her side on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lydia (Watson) Fentiman, born on April 30, 1929 in Embden Maine. She was a graduate of Skowhegan High School, Class of 1947. Harriette worked in Secretarial positions during her working years, working for Henry’s Hardware, Dr. Carlton Swett and Catholic Charities to name a few. On September 6, 1947, Harriette married Harold O. Gordon of Skowhegan and became a homemaker and Mother to 4 wonderful children and many other foster daughters over the years. She always felt so blessed to enjoy all of her kids. She enjoyed travelling, camping, snowmobiling, knitting and crocheting, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Harriette is predeceased by her husband Harold and her son Wellington “Duke” Gordon. She is survived by her children; Kenneth and Gloria Gordon of Skowhegan, Jack and Angie Gordon of Wilmington NC, and daughter Donna Gordon of Skowhegan; her 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Harriette is also survived by her very special foster children, Crystal, Sandra, Sonja, Diana, and Toni Jo. Visiting hours for Harriette will be held at Smart and Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, November 10. Please keep in mind that masks will be required at all inside services. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11AM at the funeral home, burial will follow at Southside Cemetery, as well as a Celebration of Harriette's Life beginning at 2PM at T & B Celebration Center in Skowhegan.
