Obituary

Clinton — Gerard "Jerry" D. Marin, 72, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at MaineGeneral Medical Center. Jerry was born on January 25, 1954. As a young man, he worked alongside his father cutting timber in the woods. He later joined Keyes Fibre Company, now Huhtamaki, where he dedicated 45 years of service before retiring. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Cecile Marin, and by his brothers, Maynard and Tony Marin. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patty Marin; their children, Brian (Amy) Marin and Lisa (Zouph) Downs; five beloved grandchildren, Maxwell (Amira), Joshua, Cash, Anavey, and Talon; one great-grandchild, August; and his devoted dog, Shelby. He is also survived by his siblings, Lynn (Wendell) Sweet, Linda Bickford, Tami (Mike) Ciquera, Cindy (John) Doiron, Lenny (Desiree) Marin, and Bob (Annette) Marin, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jerry was a hardworking, self-taught man known for his strong work ethic and remarkable skill as a builder. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. For 55 years, he and his wife, Patty, worked side by side, supporting one another through life's joys and challenges. Together, they built homes, raised a family, and created a life shaped by determination and love. Above all, he was a devoted son, husband, father, papa, and best friend. A graveside service will be held at Town House Hill Cemetery on Hinckley Road in Clinton, Friday, June 12th, 2026, at 11:00am. Family and friends are invited to join the family for light refreshments following the service at the Masonic Hall on Main Street in Clinton.
