George Peter, 94, of Winslow, passed away on January 11, 2026, just days before his 95th birthday. Born on January 15, 1931, in Waterville, Maine, George graduated from Waterville High School in 1949. One of his proudest accomplishments was serving in the United States Air Force as an aircraft radio mechanic. After completing his military service, he began a long career with the State of Maine liquor store, where he retired after nearly 30 years of dedicated service. George was a proud member of Legion 5 in Waterville for 40 years. He was known for his generosity and unwavering love for family, always lending a helping hand to his nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and five siblings. George is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish his memory. He will remain a beloved role model and will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held on May 2 at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Maronite Catholic Church in Waterville.
