Obituary

End of another era. The barn door/garage door is now closed. He used to wave to you, on your way home from work, or to camp. He was splitting wood but preferred to sit and talk.

Nick was born to Winnie and Warren Young on 11-25-40. Later he had a stepfather, Robert Milliken. His parents are all deceased, including a beloved brother, Ronald Young. He had two half brothers, Robert Milliken and Brian Milliken. Schooling took place in the one room schoolhouse on the China/Albion Rd and at the Beane Building in Albion.

Nick was one of the hardest working people around - and PROUD OF IT! He was a farmer on the Milliken Farm, he drove a class 1 truck, he was an engineer on a steam train, had a log business, and split people's huge stacks of wood - up until 84 years old. Also, both eyes had been in the AMD (age related macular degeneration) stage for 11 years.

Nick had very intricate hobbies. He carved songbirds with feathers, folk art, fruits and veggies, and he built RC airplanes and flew them.

In 1963 Nick married Sandra DeRosby and they had one wonderful son - Jeffery. When Jeff married Kim Sherman, he brought in many people for our family: Michael, Jess, Lucas, Katie, Amy, Jesse, Sawyer, Parker, Ember, Kayle, Wyatt, Madyson, Zayne, Ryker, Kali, Raylynn, Elizabella, Kiki, and last but not least Grayson.

On Saturday July 18th at 1PM there will be a graveside service with Pastor Ron Morell at the Lincoln Cemetery, 1 mile on the right, with a 1:30 - 2:00 pm gather and snacks at Fire RD 1, last cottage.

From 4:30 to 6, there is a slight surprise. Those who'd like to spend some time together, can join us at the Methodist Church in Vassalboro - Nick's favorite place to "eat out". With a $10 donation you can get a wonderful meal and no cooking today!
