Winslow – Donald Paul Fencik, 73, went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2024. Donny was born on November 26, 1950, in Skowhegan, son to John and Dorothy (Norton) Fencik. Growing up he attended schools in Anson and Madison.
Donny proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, where he received his GED and served as a Rifleman during the Vietnam War in 1969-1971. He worked as a mason and carpenter in his later years. His biggest joy was fishing and took every opportunity he could to spend his time by the water.
He was predeceased by both his parents, Dorothy Norton Smith and John Fencik, and his late brother, John "Jack" Fencik.
Donny is survived by his children Troy Johnson on Skowhegan, Donny Johnson, and Saber Kinny; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; sisters June Arsenault with her husband Kenny, Estelle Carey with her husband Ken, Linda Mayo with her husband Leo, Jr., Debby Fencik, and Sherry Lightbody with her husband Roy; many nieces and nephews, with one special niece Dyani Fencik whom was his "Angel Eyes"; as well as his best friend Jeanette Dewey.
There will be a graveside service at The Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 143 Blue Star Ave. in Augusta on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 12:00 pm. All are welcome.
