North Anson - On September 27th, 2023, Dennis Ralph Corson, passed away in his home just a few days after spending quality time with his family. Dennis was born on February 6, 1949, to Janet Elaine (Gilman) and Ralph Dalton Corson.
He graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1967. Dennis was a Sergeant in the US Army. He was stationed in Vietnam in December of 1969 through December of 1970. He was awarded a certificate of appreciation from President Nixon and Governor Kenneth Curtis. Dennis was also awarded several medals: National Defense Service, Vietnam Service medal with two bronze stars, combat infantryman badge, army commemorative, sharpshooter rifle M-14, expert hand grenade, sharpshooter rifle M-16, and good conduct.
He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years Robin (Quint) Corson as well as his parents Ralph and Janet (Gilman) Corson.
Dennis is survived by his wife Mary (Provencal) Corson, children; Christopher Corson with wife Amy (Wentworth) Corson, Danielle (Corson) McNally with partner Jay Russell, Patrick Corson with wife Lindsay (Fanjoy) Corson, stepdaughter Jenny Cates with wife Natalie Lampron. Other survivors include his sister Dorean (Corson) Maines, her sons Michael Maines with wife Cari Balbo and William Maines with partner Meagan Malloy. Dennis is dearly missed by his grandchildren, who he affectionately called his "6-pack"; Amira (Corson) Fair with husband Zach, Alexander Corson with wife Paige, Nathan McNally, Abigail McNally, Joshua McNally, and Isiah Corson. He had 3 ½ great-grandchildren; Apollo Fair, Oliver Fair, Robin Fair and future Levi Corson. Family was his world. He also enjoyed spending time with his extended family and in-laws.
A military burial with immediate family in the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery will take place on Friday, October 20th, and a reception at the Elks Lodge in Skowhegan will follow at 1:00pm.
