Obituary

David Creed Seymour, 66, peacefully left this life on Friday, August 16th, with his loving family by his side. David was born in Cold Spring, New York to the late Albert and Joan (Hanley) Seymour. He grew up in Wellesley and Raynham, MA. David proudly served four years in the US Coast Guard on the Coast Guard Cutter Sherman. He graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors' Degree in Business Management and Economics. He was set up on a blind date with Susan in 1982 by his sister Jill. They hit it off and eventually eloped to Las Vegas. They purchased a vintage fixer-upper home in the wonderful community of Marshfield where they lived for many years and raised their family. David had a long and distinguished career in financial services management, working for many years at State Street Bank and J.P. Morgan Chase. He also enjoyed working as a realtor. He later retired to Parsonsfield, Maine, where he spent time tending his apple orchard and working on his lifelong dream of building his own house from the ground up. David's greatest joy was spending time with his family. His weekends were spent taking the family out on the boat, fishing, camping trips, golfing, bowling, and grilling in the backyard. He loved attending his children's various and numerous activities and was an enthusiastic basketball and soccer coach. He had a deep appreciation for nature and always loved a beautiful sunset, a rocky coastline, and a good walk on the beach. David was well known and loved for his sense of humor. His greatest pleasure until the very end of his life was making connections with everyone he met and making them laugh and smile. David is survived by his children, Matthew Seymour and his partner Lauren Zaleski, of Middleboro, MA; Caroline Seymour and her partner Patrick Moretti, of Agawam, MA; his former wife, Susan Seymour and her partner Gary Pomprowicz, of Quincy, MA; and his two sisters, Jean Goodwin and her partner Bob Goodwin of West Yarmouth, MA, and Jill Chasse and her partner Chris Chasse of Mendon, MA. A Celebration of David's Life will be held in early fall. Details will be shared by the family when available.
