Fairfield – David E. Rodrigue, 55, passed away in Portland, on December 17, 2024, with his loving brother and daughter at his side. David was born in Waterville on April 6, 1969, son to Mary (Ross) and David A. Rodrigue. He attended Glencliff High School in Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, where he continued to reside for the remainer of his life.
In David's words, he was a "Jack of all trades, and a master of none." Through the years he worked in many professions including construction, landscaping, and stump grinding. He followed his father's footsteps into the upholstery business and worked alongside him for many years at Northern Mattress and Furniture. David was well known in central Maine, working at Jim's Variety, Arbo's Towing, and Colby College as well. Alongside these jobs, David assisted his father in rehabbing homes and renting apartments, where he recently took over as property manager.
David enjoyed learning new skills and sharing his knowledge with those around him. He was an independent and hard-working man. David had the biggest heart and the most contagious laugh. He seemed to know everyone, and everyone knew him. David would give the shirt off his back to a friend in need and always managed to bring a smile to the faces of those in his presence. He was, however, most proud to be a father to Heather and was "over the moon" about being Pepe to Sophia. David will be deeply missed.
David is survived by his partner Nicole Gagnon; his beloved daughter Heather Ximiness; his granddaughter Sophia Bechard; his brother Scott L Stevens and wife Annette; nephew Keenan Tilsley; niece Alicia Beland; uncle Francis Rodrigue and his wife Gloria, along with many cousins, including Jen Rodrigue, whom he was particularly close with, extended family members and countless friends.
David is preceded by his father David A. Rodrigue, his mother Mary Ross, paternal grandparents Louis Rodrigue and Jeanette LaCroix, and maternal grandmother Louise Collar Vigue.
A celebration of life for David, as well as for his father David "Senior" Rodrigue, will be held on Sunday, January 19th at 1 pm at the VFW in Fairfield. All family and friends are respectfully invited.
