Obituary

David Allen Austin, 61, of Norridgewock passed away unexpectedly of health issues on Wednesday November 22, 2023. David was born on December 13, 1961, in Skowhegan. He is the son of Gordon Kenneth Austin Sr. and Alice Maude (Landry, Austin) Lee. David attended schools in Madison and Skowhegan. He had many labor jobs before finding his passion in truck driving. He was an OTR and log truck driver for well over 20 years before retiring down to driving dump truck for Fine Line Paving for the past eleven plus years and plowing for Buy Us. His hobbies include snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, 4-wheeling, and racing cars. David is predeceased by his father Gordon, his mother Alice, and stepfather Paul Day. David is survived by his two brothers Gordon Austin Jr. of Canaan and Michael Austin and wife Stephanie of Chesterville , his loving wife of 35 years Mari (Doane) Austin, his three sons; Steve Austin of Madison, Richard Austin and wife Barbara of Norridgewock, and Kenneth Austin of Skowhegan, adopted daughter Kacey Davis of Skowhegan, stepfather Roger Lee of Livermore Falls, grandchildren; Mariah Cherry and spouse Derek Cook, Michaela Heald, Devyn Austin, Dante Aday, Joshua Thompson, and Aurora Starkey, and also great-grandchildren; Axel, Callie, and Cash. There are so many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews that we would love to mention but there are too many to list that David loved dearly. David had many friends throughout his life including but certainly not limited to: Jim Peters, Mark and Carol White, Richard and Bonnie Snell, Larry and Ellie Martell, and a special mention of all the Fine Line Paving crews as they are David's "work family." A celebration of David's life will be held on Wednesday December 13, 2023, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at the Good and Plenty 2 diner at 59 Lakewood Rd. Madison, Maine. Please consider bringing a dish for potluck.
