It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clarence "Todd" Leslie Tardy, 78, of Fairfield Maine, on November 24, 2023, while in the comfort of his home. Todd was born on October 7, 1945, the third child of Leslie and Yvonne (Cormier) Tardy of Limestone, Maine.
Todd was well-known by his community, family, and friends as a kind, caring, and fun-loving person. He was known as a jokester and lived life to the fullest with everyone that crossed his path. All of which he left an everlasting impact.
He had the gift of gab and would make friends no matter where he went or what he was doing. He did not know a stranger. He was also a proud veteran of the Air Force and Army Reserves which often led to new friendships when he would strike up a conversation with someone wearing military apparel.
Nothing made him happier than his motorcycle and that first ride of the season. He enjoyed motorcycle trips, including catching up with old friends and making new ones. These rides often included long East Coast trips, benefit rides, and "Toys for Tots".
Todd was lucky to have been loved by many families. First, his natural family whom he loved to reminisce with by telling stories about his youth and growing up in the "County". In those formative years, he spent many joyful times with his siblings.
The "Robinson" family welcomed him into theirs in 1977 and continued to support and love him as a true family member and friend. He also had a circle of friends who were like family and shared coffee and conversation with them daily after his retirement. He also loved his local biking family always thinking of them as comrades. Overall, Todd's story is a reminder of the importance of family and community. He was truly loved and will be sorely missed by many.
Todd was employed in the telephone and cable television industry and after retirement, sold his home and fulfilled his lifelong dream of traveling the roads in a toy hauler camper and spending winters in Florida. He above all, most enjoyed his bike time, enjoying his oldies music while playing games on his computer, and target shooting.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Laura Jarvis, a brother-in-law Fred O'bar, and a niece, Kathy Albert.
Todd is survived by his 3 children, his daughters, Margo Dean and her husband Christopher Dean of North Carolina, Terri Metcalfe, and his son Leslie Tardy both of Texas. His sisters Barbara O'bar of Maine, and Sandra O'Keefe, and her husband Michael of Virginia, his brother Steve Tardy and his partner Mary Darlington of Virginia, along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Todd's wishes, there will be an Honors Military Interment Ceremony to be held in the spring on May 17, 2024, at 2:00, at Central Maine Veterans Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, 143 Blue Star Avenue, Augusta, Me 04330
