Obituary

Catherine Clegg, 77, of Skowhegan, passed away at home with her family by her side on May 3rd, 2026, after a long battle with stage 5 kidney failure. She was born on December 3rd, 1948, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Herbert James Clegg and Adeline Rose (Gagnon) Clegg. Catherine spent her working years as a florist in Lynn before moving to Maine to raise her family. More than anything, she was a devoted mother who worked three jobs—often putting herself last—so her children would always have what they needed and would never go without. She was affectionately known as "Gram" to so many, whether family by blood or family by heart. Catherine loved spending time with those she loved most, whether at weekly cookouts, on shopping trips, or during long visits to the casino playing her slots. She had a wonderful sense of humor, even a dark one at times, and was remembered as loving, caring, joyful, full of life, and the heart of her large family. In her final years, Catherine received dialysis care from the lovely ladies at the Skowhegan DCI Center, where she always left with a smile on her face. At home, she was lovingly cared for around the clock by her daughter, Patricia Nayock; her granddaughters Amber, Jamie, and Bonnie; and her great-granddaughter, Angel Gerry. Even on her hardest days, Gram still found a way to fill the room with light, laughter, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her. We love you, Grammy. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Herbert and Richard Clegg; her son, Bryan Weymouth; and her niece, Nicole Clegg. She is survived by her life partner, John Lucien; her daughter, Patricia Nayock, and Patricia's partner, Michael Washburn; her son, Jayson Weymouth; her grandchildren Amber Gerry and husband Corey, Katherine Stibich and husband Brian, Jamie Martin and husband Travis, Bonnie Tims and husband Zachariah, Ceilia Weymouth, Jeremy Weymouth and wife Alicia, Justin Weymouth and wife Alex, and Nicholas Weymouth and wife Katie; 11 great-grandchildren; and her niece, Tiffany Clegg. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery on June 27th, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life in Madison, Maine.
