Norridgewock – Carolyn Glennis (Blodgett) Vining, 84, was taken home to be with the Lord, her Savior, on March 2, 2024, while a resident at Cedar Ridge Nursing Center in Skowhegan. Carolyn was born on January 14, 1940, in Fairfield, daughter to Christine (Decker) and Clarence Arthur Blodgett Sr. She grew up on a dairy farm in Fairfield and was educated at the Fairfield schools. She worked many years at the Norwock Shoe Co. and finished her career with the New Balance Footwear Co. in Norridgewock where she lived. Carolyn married the LOVE of her life, William "Bill" F. Vining on January 26, 1963. They had sixty-one wonderful years together and lived in Norridgewock. They both enjoyed visiting all their family members and friends. Carolyn LOVED her family. She enjoyed going to lawn sales and she held many at her own home. She liked to shop in a variety of stores while Bill would patiently wait for her. She is predeceased by her parents Clarence Blodgett Sr. and Christine Blodgett; brothers Earlon "Guss" Blodgett and his wife Shirley, Gerald "Joe" Blodgett, Brian Blodgett and his wife Linda, and Clarence Blodgett Jr.; sisters Bernice "Bunny" Lovejoy, Norma Wentworth, Priscilla Garland, and sister-in-law Martha Blodgett. Carolyn is survived by her husband William; sisters Janey Blodgett of Augusta, Christine Debra Demo with her husband Mark of Skowhegan, Donna Marie of Skowhegan; sisters-in-law Gwennie Blodget and Lena Blodgett both of Skowhegan; brothers Donald Blodgett with his wife Jean of Norridgewock, Ronnie Blodgett of Fairfield, Terry Blodgett with his wife Maureen of Benton, and Steve Blodgett with his wife Ellen of Northport; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A heartfelt thanks to the Redington Fairview General Hospital, ICU, and the Cedar Ridge Nursing Center for their excellent care they all gave to Carolyn.
