Obituary

Carolyn L. Lord, 73, of Skowhegan passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023 at Woodlawn Nursing Home. Carolyn was born on March 6, 1950, daughter of Shirley (Hapworth) Veneziano and William Lord. She graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in 1968. She was married to Wayne White, and they had two daughters. Carolyn worked as a waitress and later worked for KVCAP where she administered the WIC program. Carolyn lived by her own set of rules and was stubborn to a fault. She also knew how to have fun and could be the life of the party. Carolyn's life, as she knew it, was forever changed when she suffered a brain aneurysm at 31. She attended Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation in New Hampshire, where she learned how to live independently with her disability. She enjoyed taking care of her plants and loved her dogs. Carolyn also loved the sun and was often seen sitting outside soaking up its rays. Carolyn was predeceased by her mother and father; her sister, Susan Lord; the love of her life, James Malbon; and her partner and caregiver of many years John Burns. She is survived by her two daughters, Cara Mason and Carisa Giroux and her husband Tom; her sister, Cindy Johnson and her husband Cyprien; her brother, Randall Lord; grandchildren, Ivey Bickford, Ashley Mason and Tucker Giroux; nieces and nephews, Corey Johnson, Adam Gray, Aaron Lord, Alana (Lord) Jellie and Calvin Lord; and sister-in-law Lisa Brown. The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlawn Nursing home for their care. A special thank you to Sharon for going above and beyond. Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott's Cremation and Funeral Service 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan, Maine 04976. There will be no service at Carolyn's request. A private family burial will take place at East Skowhegan Cemetery at a date to be determined.
