Carl Philip Laflamme
2/21/1950
The Man, the Myth, the Legend
Carl was born February 21st, 1950, to Bernard and Jeanette (Fortin) Laflamme. On September 10th, 2023, Carl passed at the age of 73 at camp and went on his journey without me by his side.
Carl would help his father deliver milk for Smiley's and was able to have chocolate milk at the end of the day. He started working at Ace Tire at the age of fourteen. He then started working at Keyes at the age of 18 yrs. with his father. He belonged to the Beagle Club for several years. He was knowledgeable in his vehicles. He was proud of his GTO and his red jeep Wrangler.
I hope Carl is eternally fishing, four wheeling, and riding his jeep while listening to 97.3 FM. Despite his condition, he never stopped doing what he loved. He lived his life to the fullest every day. He enjoyed many laughs and pranks through work and friendships that kept him sharing the laughing for years. He always loved to make someone's day whether he knew you or not. He always gave a piece of his art to anyone who walked through the door. Carl always felt his mind could heal him and it extended his life in many ways. Thank you to those who stood by him over the years. Enjoy his great memories.
Carl is survived by the love of his life and best friend Belinda; brother Carroll Laflamme and wife Valentina; son Danny Theriault and partner Tammy Sheehan of Belgrade; daughter Kristine Rush, Miami, of Oklahoma; stepchildren Michael Bouchard and wife Kelly of Gorham, Sonja Bouchard, Christopher Sterling and fiancé Beth of Portland, Oregon, and Nicholas Sterling of Winslow; special sister-in-law Lizzetta Lawrence; several grandchildren; and special friends Carol and Mike Monegan.
He was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Jeannette, son Phil Theriault, grandson Stephen Bouchard, many good friends, and furry family Brandy and Angel.
Carl was a man always on the go and continued until his body was not able to stay up with his mind. Carl was the second child of Bernard and Jeannette Laflamme (Fortin).
Carl built his own gun cabinet at age 11 and a boat to take to the river for fishing. At age 14, he worked at Ace tire, driving, and changing tires on the road. School was not his favorite. Jokingly he said he got straight "D's."
Carl loved to be surrounded by friends and family. We had many four wheeling trips and made many friends along the way. Our campfires in the evening drew many regulars. Carl was not out to be the life of the party. He was a natural comedian giving people his time and having special connections with them even if it was a brief encounter in public.
Being married to Carl was never a dull moment. He was a kind and giving man. We enjoyed each other's company together. Our hobbies, four wheeling, fishing, and hunting. The woodworking we did together was never ending. He has made canes, walking sticks, frames, tables, boxes, pipes and countertops and I would do wood burning art on some of his projects. He was constantly giving his art to anyone who entered his life.
Graveside services at Oak Grove Cemetery to be announced later.
