Obituary

Camille R. Poulin, 89, of Skowhegan passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013 in Skowhegan, Maine. He was born November 25, 1923 in St. Georges Beauce, Quebec, Canada, the son of Onesime Poulin and Maria (Goulet) Veilleux. Camille married the former Leatrice Poirier on July 5, 1954 in Skowhegan, Maine. He spent many years as a self-employed logger in the Somerset County Area. For over 60 years he was a member of the Knight of Columbus, serving as 4th degree. He was a Eucharistic minister for over twenty years; he was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Skowhegan, and a past member of the Skowhegan Area Chamber of Commerce. Camille became a U.S. Citizen in 1972. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling around the US, Canada and Europe. He liked bowling, liked making metal puzzles, reading (mostly spiritual) and was an avid Patroit’s fan. He loved spending time with family and friends. Camille is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leatrice of Skowhegan, his two children; Lydia Hayes and her husband John, Emile Poulin and his wife Susan, two brothers; Valmond Poulin and his wife ReJeanne and Raymond Poulin both of St. Georges, Canada, his sister; Therese Veilleux and her husband Leonard of St. Georges, Canada, five grandchildren; Celyn, Tim, Adam, Tony, and Andy, six great-grandchildren; Jake, Miles, Brandon, Makaylie, Bryce, Levi, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, thirteen brothers and one sister. Viewing hours will be held on Friday April 5, 2013, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Water Street, Skowhegan, Maine. A committal will be held in the spring at the Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine. Donations may be made in Camille’s Memory to the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, PO Box 369, Skowhegan, Maine 04976
