Obituary

Waterville - Beverly Weeks, 84, a beloved soul who gave her heart to every child she met, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, kindness, and faith. Known affectionately by many as "Aunt Bev," she had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Beverly was born in Jefferson, Maine, but resided many years in Winslow, a town she held so dear. Beverly found joy in caring for children—whether they were her own nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, or simply any child lucky enough to enter her life; She treated every child as her own. Aunt Bev loved reading, listening to music, Red Sox baseball, full moons, and cruising Maine's beautiful countryside when she had the chance. She had a gentle fascination with the world's mysteries and found meaning and comfort in nature, stargazing, astrology, and numerology. Saturday night phone calls with her nephew Brian were a cherished ritual, and she was never without a copy of her Daily Word from Unity Village, which helped guide her steadfast and childlike faith. As she often affirmed: "I place myself and all my affairs lovingly in the hands of the Father, with a childlike trust." Professionally, Beverly worked for Hathaway Shirt Company and later found her calling in childcare, where she lovingly cared for children at Mt. Merici Catholic School in Waterville, and St. John's Catholic School in Winslow. Her life's work was always centered around compassion and care. She often volunteered at Winslow Congregational Church in the 1980's and loved to read to children at Winslow Public Library. Beverly was predeceased by her loving parents and her siblings: Charlie, Kenny, Wes, Dot, Gin, Mary, Bobbi, Lydia, and nephew Kevin Weeks. She is survived by her brother Clayton Weeks and his wife Lenna of Waterville; niece Michelle and her husband Mike Fecteau and their children Kaitlin and Tyler of Winslow; niece Melinda and her husband Jay Rossignol and their children Jay-Jay, Acacia, Josh, Ava, and Jovie of Benton; nephew Lee Weeks and his fiancée Sabrina and their children Alice and Jack of Albion; nephew Brian Hinman and his wife Megan and their son Ellis from California; and countless nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart, and extended family who were blessed to know her love. Beverly's hugs, laughter, wisdom and positivity will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her life was a testament to simple, unwavering love and a faith that embraced the wonder of every day.
