Fairfield – Barry E. Lee, 74, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Thursday August 24, 2023.
Barry was born in Waterville, Maine, July 9, 1949, the son of Frank Joseph Lee and Madelyn Dorothy Howell (Lee). He attended Waterville schools. He was also on a softball and bowling team.
Barry was well known for his strong work ethic working at Cascade Woolen Mill for 22 years, Reed and Reed Construction Company, Care and Comfort, and GV Builders doing home renovations. While at work, Barry was well known for the positive relationships he made with his co-workers, who quickly considered him a friend. You would often find him humming and whistling while diligently doing his duties at work.
Barry loved sports, especially the New England Patriots, duck and deer hunting, fishing (his favorite spot being Folly Pond where he enjoyed a once-a-year trip with all the men in the family), camping, the outdoors, and spending time with family. You would often see him at one of his grandchildren's school events or sporting events never hiding how proud he was when they won or accomplished something great. You could always count on him being there no matter what sport it was, where it was, or how long of the day or weekend it entailed, and he was always smiling from ear to ear.
Barry was well known for his sweet and kind nature. He loved his family and close friends so effortlessly. He was a man with great strength, independence, and determination to achieve whatever he wanted and always knew what to say when you needed to hear it. Barry also had a love for Greyhounds, where he rescued several from the Maine Greyhound Placement Services in Augusta, Maine. You would often find him walking his dog and truly enjoying them as a campion.
He was predeceased in death by Frank Joseph Lee (Father), Madelyn Dorothy Howell Lee (Mother), Kevin Jason Lee (Son), Donna Marie Benson (Sister) and Sherwood Wayne Lee (Brother).
