Barbara
Mccormick
Dec 26, 1931 — Feb 18, 2024
Unity – Barbara P. McCormick, 92, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2024, with her family by her side. Barbara was born on December 26, 1931, at their farmhouse in Unity to Delbert and Addie Hamlin. She graduated from Unity High School in 1950 as Class Salutatorian and was known for her outstanding pitching skills for the school softball team. She married her high school sweetheart, Albert C. McCormick on May 5, 1050, in Winslow. It was a marriage with a strong conviction of love and support. They had four children: Michael, Blaine, Barry, and Lisa, which they raised in their family home in Unity.
Barbara’s family was the most precious thing in her life. She loved having family visits and watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren grown. She enjoyed making flower arrangements and baking her famous biscuits and pies. Another favorite pastime was playing bridge with the local ladies of Unity. Barbara worked at Unity Pharmacy for over twenty-seven years until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert McCormick; daughter Lisa (McCormick) Wren; parents Addie and Debert Hamlin; sisters Phyllis and Betty; and daughter-in-law Karen McCormick.
Barbara is survived by her children Michael and wife Connie (Sewell) McCormick, Blen McCormick, Barry and Vera (Dodge) McCormick, son-in-law George Wren, sister-in-law Marie McCormick. She had many nieces and nephews, ten grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Barbara will be deeply missed more than you can imagine.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date for family and close friends.
